Cancellation by us

If we have to cancel a tour or part of a tour for any reason (we are a small team and the unforeseen can happen) we would endeavour to get another local operator to provide the same tour for you at the same price. If this could not be done, we would of course refund all monies paid (or part monies if part tour undertaken) and then not be liable to provide the tour as agreed.

Alterations to our tours

Sometimes circumstance change beyond our control. We reserve the right to make last minute adjustments to a tour where necessary. If this happens, we will ensure that the tour is as much like the original as possible and explain to you why it has happened. Unless the tour has to be cancelled or cut short, no refund will be due.

Tickets and departures

Tickets are sold un-numbered for bus tours and seating in the bus is on a first come first served basis. The bus will be at the agreed pick-up point 15 minutes prior to departure. We will endeavour to depart on time, but reserve the right to adjust timings as necessary.

Safety, Insurance, Risk and Liability - general tours

Your safety is very important to us and we will take all reasonable measures to ensure it. All visitors are expected to pay attention to and follow all safety instructions and information given by the guide at the commencement of the tour and throughout.

Go Shetland Tours (operated by Robinson Transport (Shetland) Limited) accepts no responsibility or liability for loss, damage or injury. You agree that you are participating in the tour or guided walk at your own risk and that we shall not be liable under any circumstances for any matter so arising (other than for matters for which we are not legally able to exclude or limit liability). We confirm we have public liability insurance.

Safety, Insurance, Risk and Liability - guided walks

In addition to the general tours advice above, visitors on guided walks must pay particular attention to the information included on our 'Walking in Shetland' page.

No matter what the activity, in life there is always an element of risk and that includes walking with us. Anyone taking part shall be aware of and accept these risks, agree to be responsible for their own actions and to raise any concerns or questions with the group leader. While our guided walks are led by an experienced guide, or guides, and the routes we walk have been tested beforehand, situations change. Before attending any of our walks you need to be reasonably fit and prepared to be responsible for your own safety.

Please check if there is any activity you may be unable to do, eg. difficult terrain, duration of planned walk, etc. If you have any concern then please contact us before the day of the walk. If you have any medical conditions, or injuries that may affect your walking capability, please let the organisers know before the day of the walk. If you feel unwell during a walk, please let your guide know.
